چکیده
Back ground: S. aureus especially methicillin and multi drug resistant (MRSA MDRSA) has the tendency to form biofilm. Our aim was study in vitro biofilm-forming ability of isolates examine relationship between biofilm formation antibiotic resistance pattern. Methods: One hundred forty one clinical were isolated from wound pus tracheal aspirate samples. Biofilm these detected by Congo red (CRA) method micro-titer plate (MTP) methods confirmed PCR through detection genes. Results: The percentage biofilm-producing found be 81.6% 58.2% for MTP CRA respectively. majority MRSAisolates positive Conclusions: Biofilm-producing exhibit high develop multidrug resistance.

Detection of icaABCD Genes and Biofilm Formation in Clinical Isolates of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus
Background & Objectives: Methicillin resistance Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of the most important pathogens that causes several nosocomial and community infections. Adhesion to surfaces and biofilm formation is considered main step in staphylococcal infection. The aims of this study were to determine presence oficaABCD genes and relation to the biofilm formation in of...
متن کاملBiofilm Formation and Detection of IcaAB Genes in Clinical Isolates of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus
Objective(s) Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is an important cause of nosocomial and community infections. Biofilm formation, mediated by a polysaccharide intercellular adhesin (PIA) and encoded by the ica operon, is considered to be an important virulence factor in both S. epidermidis and S. aureus. However, the clinical impact of the ica locus and PIA production is less w...
متن کاملComparison of Biofilm Formation between Methicillin-Resistant and Methicillin-Susceptible Isolates of Staphylococcus aureus
Background: The aim of this study was to compare the biofilm formation and the prevalence of biofilm-associated genes between the isolates of methicillin-resistant (MRSA) and methicillin-susceptible (MSSA) Staphylococcus aureus. Methods: In total, 209 S. aureus isolates were collected. The antibiotic susceptibility test was conducted using nine antibiotics according to the guidelines of Clinica...
متن کاملEvaluation of Different Phenotypic and Genotypic Methods for Detection of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
Background: Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has been emerged as a nosocomial and community acquired pathogen worldwide. There are many challenges for laboratory detection of MRSA. The aim of this study was to compare different phenotypic methods with PCR based method as a gold standard for detection of mecA gene. <b...
